Model United Nations (MUN)

Last weekend, the Shokan Ualikhanov Private School hosted a large-scale event — Model United Nations (MUN), an educational simulation of the United Nations.

130 students from various schools across the city came together to take on the role of diplomats.

As part of the MUN, participants represented different countries and worked in UN-style committees. The theme of the conference focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), formulated by the UN to address key global challenges. Delegates engaged in meaningful debates on topics such as eradicating poverty, overcoming social inequality, and ensuring inclusive and quality education.

Special attention was given to the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in addressing poverty and social inequality. Delegates discussed how technology could improve access to education, particularly in rural areas, where the digital divide between urban and rural schools remains significant.

Our students received top honors in key conference categories:

  • Indira Ayupova — Best Delegate

  • Milena Nurlybekova — Best Presentation

  • Meruert Karim — Outstanding Delegate

We congratulate our participants and all nominees for their excellent public speaking and diplomatic skills!

The event was held with the support of the school and the SATisfaction Education Center, becoming a bright and inspiring experience for all involved.

Let’s take a glimpse into the atmosphere of these eventful days together.
